LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Friday night marked the 9th consecutive evening of gatherings and protests in Las Vegas after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

And up to 4,000 people gathered in a Las Vegas park to protest against police brutality and equal rights.

The group also held a vigil for those killed at the hands of the police.

It was peaceful and orderly. A variety of speakers attended Friday night who preached peace and voting to create real change.

Faith leaders and elected officials like Councilman Cedric Crear and Congresswoman Susie Lee were among the dignitaries.

The group chanted, sang, danced performances, along with moments of solidarity to stand up against what organizers of the protest say is systemic racism and police brutality that are plaguing communities of color.

Friday's protest ended peacefully, and there are potentially more gatherings forming over the weekend.
