May 6, 2021
Two years ago, two high-traffic intersections in the Historic Westside were upgraded to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow. City of Las Vegas Councilman Cedric Crear was a strong advocate for both of these projects and has many other plans for upgrades in Ward 5. Watch the video below to hear what he has to say about how the upgrades have improved the roadway experience in the area and what more is to come.
Councilman Crear also says that the City of Las Vegas is working toward a goal of zero fatalities called, “Vision Zero.” Vision Zero is a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries. Currently, they are developing their action plan for this multi-phased endeavor. The vision will focus on nine key components: political commitment, multi-disciplinary leadership, action plans, equity, cooperation, system-based approaches, data-driven decision making, community engagement and transparency.
